Play Bells in Italy

Bay Bells, community handbell ensemble based in the San Francisco
Bay Area, is planning a fantastic bell excursion to Tuscany.
We’re renting a villa, taking day trips to do sightseeing and play
concerts, learning a bit about Italian culture and food and having
a great time.
We currently have a nice handful of ringers interested and some
spouses that will be tagging along. We have a few more spots
available and I’m prepared to open the opportunity to ringers far
and wide.
We’re going the week of March 7-15, 2009 and the cost for your
land package will be under $2000 (including many of your meals).
You would be responsible for booking your own airfare.
We’re hoping to visit some of the major sights in Tuscany like
Florence, Siena and Pisa, but also catch some of the
off-the-beaten-path locations like San Gimignano, Volterra and
Vinci.
There is the possibility of working with some local artists and
even being a part of a documentary film while we’re there.
Details are pending on our actual performance venues. In any
case, you prepare your music. We rehearse when we get there (we
may schedule some Bay Area rehearsals leading up that would be
recommended, but not mandatory).
If you’re looking for a great escape and an opportunity to play
bells where they “don’t exist,” then we’ve got the trip for you!
Please email me offline if you are interested and I’ll get you any
further information you might require. Deposits are due next week
and there are only a few spots left. So don’t delay!
