from the Perthshire Advertiser:
A NUMBER of new producers are setting out their stalls at this Saturday’s Strathmore and the Glen’s Community Market at Blairgowrie’s Wellmeadow.
As well as the fantastic array of Scottish crafts, there’s also locally-grown vegetables, organic bread, fish, beef and lamb and award-winning Scottish Preserves.
Making a debut at the market will be Laura’s Chocolates and Hawthorne Troughs.
SCARFE will be distributing free energy saving light bulbs and loads of energy saving tips and advice alongside a representative from Waste Scotland who will be promoting home composting.
Organisers are also pleased to welcome back Blair Bells who will be demonstrating their handbell ringing skills at the market.
Anyone interested in joining the group should ‘ring’ Mary McGregor or speak to her at the Market. Only qualifications required are the ability to count to four, a sense of humour and lots of team spirit. You don’t even need to read music.
The Rattray School Marching Band Corp will also be marching to the Market from the High Street at around 11am.
Weather permitting Blairgowrie Library will be holding their popular storytime during the market and members from Blairgowrie and Rattray Community Council will be on hand to listen to issues raised by members of the community.
Strathmore and the Glen’s Community Market takes place on the fourth Saturday of the month between 10am–3pm in Blairgowrie Wellmeadow from April–October.
