Philadelphia merchants gearing up for open house

The holidays are almost here and Philadelphia merchants are gearing up for the annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Philadelphia Main Street Association has a few special things planned for this year’s event, said director Lisa Howell.

Members of the Neshoba Central Elementary School Chorus will perform Christmas carols at local businesses and the handbell choir of First Baptist Church will perform at 3 p.m. on the courtsquare.

Pictures with Santa will be taken from 2 to 4 p.m. at Merle Norman Cosmetics, at 413 Center Ave. The cost will be $2.

We will once again be giving away a $250 gift certificate to one lucky Open House visitor, Howell said.
