A VARIETY concert is to be held in Thurso. Melvich Gaelic Choir, fresh from their triumphant appearance at the Mod, will be singing traditional Gaelic music while the trumpet of Stuart Whitely will introduce a more modern note.

Erica Sinclair’s playing of the clarsach demonstrates the subtle and emotive tone and range of this instrument and the audience can also enjoy some harmonious campanology from Caithness Handbell Ringers.

A different range of music will be provided by Katie Vines’ string quartet and Pete and Chris Nicoll on accordion and guitar.

Compere for the evening will be Donald MacNeill. The concert will take place in the Pentland Hotel at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 18.
