Repost from Handbell-l
The Austin Handbell Ensemble will be performing its final public concert of the month Friday, Dec 12th at 7:30pm at the University Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX. Now, I know that it may be a little late notice for those who would be flying in just for the concert, but perhaps there may be some among you who are in the area, or, at least you may enjoy seeing what is on the concert.
Here is the program….
Angels We Have Heard on High (arr Sandra Eithun) (a great opener)
Home for the Holidays Medley (arr. Doug Wagner) (audiences like this one)
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence (arrr. Cathy Moklebust) (lots of musicality and interpretation needed and worth it)
O Come, O Come Emmanuel (arr. Arnold Sherman) (one of Arnolds best for XMas)
Hark the Herald Angels Sing (arr. Arnold Sherman) (a Raney/Sherman collaboration)
In the Bleak Midwinter (arr. Karen Buckwalter) (it’s Buckwalter, it’s dripping with musicality)
Ukrainian Bell Carol Fantasy (arr. Arnold Sherman) (one of the two best arrangements of the tune imho)
The World in Solemn Stillness Lay (arr. Matthew Prins) (Cool!!! You need to hear this one)
Sing-Along with the AHE (various titles, arr. Martha Lynn Thompson) (audiences like these)
Silent Night (arr. Sandra Eithun) (really nice arr done in 4/4. Another well done arr by Sandra)
White Christmas (arr. Cynthia Dobrinski) (a classic)
Thanks and have a great holiday time!!
