If anyone of you are going to be traveling our way in the next week and 1/2, here’s what I’ve got going on.  We would love to see you there!

Dec. 16th (Tuesday) – 1st Pres, Medford does a ‘Soup and Sound’ series.  It entails a free soup lunch and a 1/2 hour concert at 12:30.  Tintinnabulation, our small ensemble is doing the music this coming Tuesday. I’m sorry that I don’t have the music in front of me, but here’s what I remember off the top of my head about our selections:

Hallelujah Chorus – Keller arrangement, I think?

The Holly and the Ivy – the church is on Holly street, so this seemed like a really great idea!

Pat-a-Pan

He Is Born

Jingle Bell Rock – duet arr. Hascall

Advent Medley – solo arr. Hascall

Silver Bells

March of the Toys

Little Drummer Boy – campanile arrangement, but played with 5 instead of 6

Our other Christmas bell concert is on Sunday evening the 21st, also at 1st Pres at 7:00.  This is our 5th anniversary of “Ringing In Christmas”.  I have invited many of the other bell choirs around the valley to each come and ring 2 pieces of music – just what they have already prepped for their own churches, so the stress is lessoned for each group, but we have a wonderfully varied concert with a chance to hear what each group has been playing.  The participating groups this year are:

1st Pres, Medford – bell choir & Tintinnabulation 1st Pres, Central Point 1st United Methodist, Medford – Melody Ringers St. Mark’s Episcopal, Medford Westminster Pres, Medford Ascension Lutheran, Medford Eternal Ring, Seventh Day Adventist Academy, Medford Rogue Ringers, our fairly new community bell choir in Medford

The logistics are an interesting challenge, but we can get 3 rows of tables in the chancel area, so most groups get to use their own bell sets, with some rearranging at intermission.
