Hello all. Just a New Years reminder that we have a fabulous Florida festival planned for Mar. 13-14 in beautiful Lakeland, FL (south of Orlando, west of Tampa, pretty much the center of the state). We will be at Lakeland UMC located on Lake Morton, complete with swans (not kidding), so bring your choirs and breadcrumbs. The “price is right” ($75 for 2 days and 2 meals); the “price is also right” for the hotels ($123 including tax for doubles… can’t beat that in snowbird season). The weather will be great (I put my order in early upstairs), the conductors (Carlos Avila and Jason Wells) will be greater, the classes are numerous and should surely fit one of your needs, and the music is designed to fit lenten/Easter and general repertoire. We have both Honors and Massed choirs.
However, THE DEADLINE for EARLY BIRD is approaching… it is VALENTINES DAY, February 14th, so do your heart good; visit our website at www.agehr4.org at “events” then “Florida” and see all that is being offered. You may register after that deadline at a slighty higher price (as you know, advance planning is so important as to food and extra bell set needs.)
There is also a scholarship deadline looming closer, January 15th!!
Many phone calls indicate that folks don’t realize that full choirs are not required at these type events. I don’t know of any AGEHR events that require full choirs. Bring yourself, or two or three or all! We have some “orphan” arrangements, if needed. If you have any other questions, my info is below. Registrations are starting to come in and we sure hope YOU will be one of them. I will be the one at the registration table (the flamingo with head cut off spot) and hope to meet many of you there.
