repost from Handbell-l:

We have two events coming up that we’d like to invite you to:

1.  At 4:00PM on February 8th, PHE (under the direction of Kermit Junkert) will be joining forces with The Rooke Chapel Ringers from Bucknell University (under the direction of William Payn) in presenting a concert in the Science Center Main Auditorium of Montgomery County Community College (340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell PA 19422).  Tickets for the “Super Bell” are just $10.00 (children under 12 free).  Please contact me at RinginRon@comcast.net if you are interested in reserving tickets.  If you are a director in the area, please invite your choir members to this exciting joint venture!

2.  On Saturday, Feb. 28th, PHE will be presenting our annual Ring to Spring at Eastern High School, 1401 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043.  The day-long event will include massed ringing, classes, a reading session, and a concert that is open to the public. Also appearing on the final concert will be the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble under the baton of Kermit D. Junkert, Artistic Director and Conductor.  The guest conductor is Michael Joy.  Michael is currently the middle school music teacher at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA, where he conducts 15 different handbell groups. He is also the music director at First Presbyterian Church in Ambler, PA. Michael is a published composer, handbell clinician, and festival conductor. He was named 2004 Composer of the Year by Jeffers Publishing Company for his composition “Dorian Dance.”
