The National Ring in Praise Seminar for Church Musicians 2009 will be held
at Dunblane Cathedral, in beautiful central Scotland, on Saturday 6 June.
Sessions on offer include:
* Ringing for the First Time – Learn to Ring the basic ringing techniques
and experience how they can be introduced to beginners of all ages.
* Ring the Church Season – Harvest – Ring through a range of music suitable
for the worship service at harvest time.
* Technique Tune-up – be introduced to, or have a refresher of, many
handbell techniques and their notation in handbell music.
* Get a Handle on Rhythms – this fun and very practical hands-on session
will develop your skill in ringing a variety of rhythms.
* Praise Band and Bells – many churches have a Praise Band incorporating
several instruments – this session will let you experience adding handbells
to the mix.
* Wedding Rings – ring through a range of music suitable for a marriage
ceremony.
* Music Terms Explained – Just what do these Italian terms and music symbols
mean? This practical session will provide explanations and let you ring
them.
* Ring the Church Season – Christmas – Ring through a range of music
suitable for the worship service at Christmas time.
* Ringing for Bellhogs – for the experienced ringer and fluent music reader
who wants to ring several handbells across the music in solo/ensemble style.
* Reflective Music – Ring through music suitable for meditation or offering
as part of the worship service.
* Queens, Titums & Whittingtons – a fun practical session simulating the
sound of change-ringing tower bells using handbells.
* Taizé and Bells – a practical session for adding handbells to the music of
Taizé in a worship service.
