Handbell festival is set for March 7

The Illinois Great Rivers Conference Chapter of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts will hold their annual handbell festival on March 7 at Northfield Inn in Springfield.

The event is open to handbell choirs and/or individual ringers. Participation is limited to the first 200 registrants and the registration deadline is Feb. 7.

The guest clinician is Arnold B. Sherman, a freelance composer, co-founder of Red River Music and music and arts director at First United Methodist church in Henderson, Texas.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. and ringing starts at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. with a break for lunch.

The registration is $35 per ringer for churches with a Fellowship member and $40 per ringer for churches without a Fellowship member.
