Green, Ohio -
Greensburg United Methodist Church, located at 2161 Greensburg Road, will be presenting a free handbell celebration concert Sunday, April 19 at 4 p.m. to commemorate 26 years of handbell choir at the church.
In 1983, Greensburg United Methodist Church was blessed with the gift of three octaves of Schulmerich handbells, including tables and music. Later, two more octaves were added as memorial contributions as well as three octaves of Mallmark choir chimes
The concert will feature performances by the Jubilee Ringers and Joyful Bells along with flute, trumpet, bell tree and organ accompaniment, as well as a duet with both choirs using bells and organ chimes for the first time ever. Refreshments will be provided immediately following the concert.
“We have chosen the Sunday after Easter for this concert because we feel it will be a great opportunity for friends and families in the community to hear performances they may not have otherwise,” said Betty Gross, Handbell Choir Director and Church Organist. “Our handbell ringers work very hard throughout the school year with weekly practices and monthly performances at the church’s 10:30 worship service.”
