The Dare Team Press has two announcements that might interest you.
1. PACKAGE OF REPRODUCIBLE MASTER COPIES FOR TEACHING NOTE NAMES
This set of materials provides clear, sequential explanations of the staff,
the treble and bass clefs, ledger lines, octaves and the grand staff.
It includes many worksheets for naming notes in both clefs.
My experience as a classroom music teacher and a director of beginning bell groups of all ages
has convinced me that these extensive drills focused on isolated concepts of the staff — spaces, lines,
and stepwise motion — facilitate learning.
This approach has been especially helpful with bell choirs where I found it was easy to teach rhythmic values
while teaching the ringing stroke but more difficult to teach note names to new ringers who were intent
on following only their own two notes. I could present a concept at the end of a ringing session and send
the worksheet home with the new ringers.
Details and miniature copies of all the sheets are available on our website.
The complete set of single sheets is packaged in a manila envelope.
