Classical Bells IN CONCERT and WORKSHOP at Zion Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan
You are invited to join us at Zion Lutheran Church – Ann Arbor, Michigan for two exciting events featuring Classical Bells, Michigan’s Premier Handbell Ensemble.
Classical Bells In
Concert
Friday, May 1 at 7:00 pm.
The concert is open
to the public and FREE. (A free-will offering will be
collected.)
Come and experience the sounds of bells ringing in Zion’s beautifully renovated Sanctuary. You will surely enjoy the varied concert that includes settings of favorite hymns tunes – “Praise to the Lord, The Almighty”, Divinum Mysterium (“Of the Father’s Love Begotten”), “Beautiful Savior” and “Lord of the Dance”. Classical Bells will also play wonderful arrangements of pieces by Georges Bizet (“The Ball”), Leroy Anderson (“Plink Plank, Plunk”), Errol Garner (“Misty”) and Johann Sebastian Bach (“Badinerie”).
Also, on the program is a medley of tunes from “The Wizard of Oz”, a piece for organ and handbells featuring our Zion organist, Elgin Clingaman and other original pieces for handbells. Plan now to attend this wonderful concert and invite a friend!
Classical Bells Handbell Workshop
Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 am -
12:30 pm.
ALL are welcome to join us for the workshop. This hands-on workshop is designed for ringers of all skill levels and is for ringers and directors alike. Topics include:
Treble/4-in-hand
Bells in Worship
Basic Bass Bells (the “really big ones!”)
Basic Techniques
Ringing in Color
Rhythm & Movement
Various “How To’s” of Handbells
Director’s Round Table
