The Capital City Ringers, from Lansing MI, will be in the metro area this weekend! On Saturday, April 25, from 9:30-4:30, they will present a “fun” ringing workshop for handbell choirs. This workshop will feature mass rehearsals where all will work on 3 or 4 pieces together as a group under the direction of Jane Wright. Then in sectionals, member of the Capital City Ringers will answer questions and help individuals with ringing techniques and problem areas. In the afternoon, there will be a reading session or new handbell music and “old chestnuts” (sponsored by Shattinger Music) and the day will close with a “performance” of the four pieces worked on. The workshop will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 200 N. Main St., Waterloo IL. Participants will need to bring handbells, chimes, pads, tables, mallets, etc… Individuals are also invited to ring as orphans. The cost has been kept at $35 (instead of a raised late fee of $45) and includes lunch and snacks. For more information or to register, contact Mark Babb at mark(at)stpaulonline.org,
In the evening, the Capital City Ringers will present their 25th anniversary concert. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM, and be held in the sanctuary of St. Paul UCC. The concert is free and open to the public, but a free will offering will be received. On Sunday April 26 at 8:30 AM, CRR will be the special guests during worship at St. Paul. On Friday evening, April 24, CCR will be in concert at Signal Hill UMC, 47 Signal Hill Place, Belleville IL.
That concert is also free and open to the public.
Come help the Capital City Ringers celebrate 25 years of handbell ringing!
