New Music & Playback Files

New Releases for 2 Octaves and Playback Files
1. The Dare Team Press has released 2 new titles for 2 octave choirs. Playback files for both of these are now on the site.
The dynamics do not playback accurately in a few of the mp3 files. If I waited until I got every mp3 file perfect, there would never be any playback files on the site. The dynamic marks in the printed music are correct even though some playback files do not observe them.
2. The playback files for the two suites released last summer are finally on the site. Either of these 3-octave, Level 1 suites would be good follow-up material after completing the Up and Ringing! method book. Every octave gets melodic material somewhere in each suite.

Festival/Concert Announcement Fredericksburg, VA

Repost from Handbell-L
I am happy to announce the Second Annual Fredericksburg (VA) Area
Handbell Festival and Concert to be held on Saturday April 2, 2011 at
the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Nancy Cappel will be the
Guest Director. 12 Handbell Choirs from the Stafford, Spotsylvania, and
Fredericksburg area are participating in this event.
Our first get-together last year was a small 6 choir "Ringers Ringing
for Ringers" half day event with each choir ringing 2 or 3 pieces
separately and joining for a massed ring of 1 number at the end. This
year's festival event format will include a few "individual choir"
pieces during the breaks throughout the day and a concert at 2:30 PM to
close the event.
Our concert repertoire includes:
Alleluia Amen – Linda Lamb
Blessed Assurance – Sandra Eithun
I'm Just A Poor Wayfarin' Stranger – Tammy Waldrop
Prayer for Peace (with PowerPoint) – Michael Helman
Exuberant Joy – Arnold Sherman
If you are near the Washington, DC area and looking for something to do
on Saturday afternoon take a drive up or down I-95 to listen to some
great music. We all know what Nancy does with her own choirs.
Contact me if you would like any other information.

Play Handbells in Italy! July 9-16

Repost from Handbell-L
Interested in visiting the gorgeous region of Tuscany… and playing
handbells while you're there? Handbell Ventures is sponsoring its second
"Soggiorno in Italia" and looking for more ringers. I traveled with the
group for their inaugural trip in March of '09 and had an absolutely amazing
time. We visited the Uffizi in Florence, ate gelato among the towers of San
Gimignano, toured a winery in Chianti, and perfected a repertoire of pieces
to perform at three concerts during our stay. Our next trip promises to be
just as much fun — and I admit I've been looking forward to it since the
day I left in 2009!
We're staying even closer to Florence this time around and, while there are
several planned group activities (my favorite memories from the last trip
were the long, delicious, Italian-style meals we shared together), there
will also be down time to explore on your own or just to relax in the
beautiful Villa le Fonti where our group will be based. You can visit our
webpage at https://sites.google.com/site/bellsintuscany/ for more details.
We will be abroad from July 9 through July 16, 2011. The land package is
$2,295 and includes lodging, group transportation in Italy, and some meals.
Email me or William Kyle at william@baybells.org for more information –
we'd love to have you along.
